As the quiet jewel of the Limpopo Valley, Mmabolela is situated along the migratory flyway of South Africa and with its riparian canopy forest, arid thornveld, calcrete ridges and aquatic habitats is the ideal home to some 350 species of birds.
Special feathered residents include Pel's fishing owls, African finfoot and three banded coursers to name but a few.
